Repository 35: Ann Hamilton Brings A Field of Swings to the Armory

Ann Hamilton amazes yet again with her poetic and site specific installation the event of a thread at New York's Park Avenue Armory. She has suspended 40 swings on 50 foot long steel chains. All of the swings are made to be used - the swings will be attached to a giant piece of cloth, so when activated there will be a collective choreography of bodies, swings and movement. A virtual flock of an installation.

When you see a swing, you know what to do, it doesn't need instructions. - Ann Hamilton

The program and installation runs from December 5 - January 6.
