Hokusai was a legendary Japanese painter and printmaker (1760–1849). He is known for his iconic print series of the “Thirty-six views of Mount Fuji“. I believe this poem sums up the necessary perspectives from which to work creatively. I refer to it often and find it an essential palette cleanser when entering a new body of work or project. Last week MOMA announced its first acquisition of an app, Björk’s app titled Biophilia, which is the same name of her album released in 2011. The app is a beautiful bundle of music, information and mini-games designed to explore the cross hairs/Venn circles and bridges between nature, science and music.
